Jennifer Hotchner, MA, LPC, Psychotherapist
My work focuses on revealing your wisdom and intelligence through mindfulness. Contemplative approaches such as Client Centered therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Humanistic Psychology, Gestalt and EMDR provide us with tools. The essences of all of these approaches are based on the understanding that we cannot be fixed because there is nothing wrong with being human. Coming from this perspective, your pain need not be abandoned or sought out as an enemy, but rather witnessed and understood.
There is no pathology that is unworkable, and no pattern that wasn’t born out of a basic intelligence and desire to heal oneself. If your confusion feels intolerable and you are hurting yourself or others I will help you develop ways to turn toward your suffering without being overwhelmed. Our work together will be to uncover your inherent right “to be” without fearing who you are. By building a new relationship with pain we become our greatest resource.
