Anke Perkert, Alexander Technique
The Alexander Technique is a non-invasive, gentle method of
re-educating body and mind to form a new understanding of movement. Lessons
consist of enhancing awareness, noticing harmful or restricting movement
patterns and learning how to release the tension that has become painful,
tiring and exhausting.
Most people come to the Alexander Technique because of some pain, resulting from mis-use or over-use of their bodies. During lessons you will develop a new understanding of your upright design, balance and coordination, which enables you to move within a new sense of freedom and ease. What you learn during lessons can be applied to any activity, whether it is running, dancing, meditating, playing an instrument or simply sitting at the computer. Anke Perkert has been teaching the Alexander Technique since 1998 privately as well as in groups and retreat settings. Her approach is gentle and spacious, allowing room for discoveries into the deeper nature of the physical and spiritual body. She is certified by the American Society of the Alexander Technique.
